Highview Power, the global leader in long-duration energy storage solutions, has been named a finalist for two highly prestigious S&P Platts Global Energy Awards, often described as “the Oscars of the energy industry.” The categories include:
Commercial Technology of the Year Award
and the Award of Excellence for
Midstream Companies.
Winners will be announced at the S&P Global Platts Global Energy Awards banquet today in New York City. The 21st annual Awards show is a black-tie affair that will be held at 2019 at Cipriani South Street (10 South Street) to celebrate the top performers, industry leaders, and innovators in the energy industry. This recognition comes off the heels of Highview Power’s recent announcement to construct the
United Kingdom’s first commercial liquid air energy storage facility, which is currently slated to be the largest long duration battery system in Europe.
“We are pleased to be recognized today by the energy industry, especially for our CRYOBattery™ technology,” said Highview Power’s CEO Dr. Javier Cavada. “We have a number of projects in the pipeline in both the UK and US, and partnerships with top global developers and investment firms.”
“This nomination is a testament to the need for long duration energy storage and our technology in particular, which we believe is a vital piece to building the foundation of a 100% carbon free future.”
Energy storage installations around the world are expected to multiply
exponentially, reaching 1,095GW/2,850GWh by 2040. Over the next two decades, $662 billion of investment is needed for stationary energy storage, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF).
The S&P Global Platts Global Energy Awards, established in 1999, highlight corporate and individual innovation, leadership, and superior performance in 18 categories spanning the entire energy complex.
